Thanks Adam. You're right about Metroid. I updated the information and removed Metroid from his highlights, although Miyamoto did Produce the Metroid Prime series.

This is a good list, but I preferred if you didn't numbered them. I pretty much disagree with Tim Schafer being in the bottom of the list. I enjoyed every single game designed by him, there aren't any other designers that I can say the same, simply because he's a great story teller. However, Warren Spector is the top of the list for me, even despite the poor Deus Ex 2 sequel. His "sneak" style fps game simply changes the way I play the fps genre and I become very good at generic run-and-gun fps, giving me the edge over most other fps players, which I have to admit is very satisfying when you outwit them because they don't think of the map in 3 dimensions.

Overall the article is informative. There are a couple designers I'm not familiar with and some games I haven't played and need to when I can find the time.

Warren Spector has been involved with most of my all time fav games. The guy is just incredible.

Ultima Underworld 1/2, System Shock were just so far ahead of the competition, but unfortunately this never reflected in the sales.I guess a lot of people never took more than a glance at these games and thought they were just another FPS, and so bought Doom, etc instead. Then with Thief they created an entirely new game genre! Incredible!

I hope he stays in gaming, because we certainly still need his vision.

Great list... I wonder why Hideo Kojima is not on here. That man directs some incredible games!

While he does tend to oversell, Molyneux made Syndicate, Populous and Dungeon Keeper. That right there makes him apart of my list. He also did apologize for Fable 1, so I don't hold it against the guy too much.

Molyneux's "notorious" ability to oversell and overpromise would remove him from my list of all-time designers. He had a few all-star seasons back in his original design days, but games like Fable I/II and Black and White have been horribly overstated.
