Pimps at Sea err I mean Age of Booty & Gen 13 Cosplay
I was in the cruising around in the update to the UI on the Xbox and decided to look at the Live Arcade games to see if I had missed anything. I saw Age of Booty and I remembered reading somewhere that a couple of the Bungie guys were involved in the project. Was this Bungie’s fabled Pimps at Sea finally coming out?
I downloaded the free trial and booted it up. After playing the game I came away a believer and paid the $10 for the full version.
You control a single ship and move about a board full of hexes. The gameplay takes place in real time and your goal is to plunder defended towns. As you move next to hostiles (other ships, towns, etc…) on the hex grid your ship will automatically attack them. Your towns produce resources and additional resources can be scavenged from ships that you sink or just floating around on the sea. The resources can be used to upgrade your ship or town. Although the game is not very lengthy, there is a map editor and multiplayer locally, system link or over Xbox Live. I attempted during primetime (9PM Central time) to get into a game, but there are very few people playing this game over live. Age of Booty is very addictive and although short it is worth the $10. I hope Certain Affinity and Capcom releases some additional single-player “Challenges” for a small fee ($2.50) would be reasonable.

I would have echoed other peoples’ exclamations that these pictures are photoshopped (and they very well might be), but looking at the model’s (Marie-Claude Bourbonnais) other photos, it is not out of the realm of possibility that the photos have not been touched up to enhance certain things. Regarding Age of Booty, I just found that you can play the multiplayer maps against the computer. That opened up the game quite a bit for replayability.

I am a n00b when it comes to macs. I ordered a zonealarm…thing, that was from the university I go to. And after that and a full scan, I could no longer use opera or MSN messenger. I manually deleted them and downloaded them again, shut down-turn on my computer a few times, but nothing is working.
