Some are more adept at certain things even at a such young age, whether it be their intelligence, creativity, or dedication. Sungha is one of the special kids because of his love of playing, dedication, and inate TALENT that he was born with. There are other young kids like him discovered or not in this world. His parents didnt force him to practice. It says on his website that he liked what he heard from his father playing the guitar and that got him interested. How many young kids stick with one thing at such a young age for this long and be one of the best(IMHO) at what he does? I'm sure his parent's support helped him to stick with it for this long also. I dont believe his father uploading on the YouTube was the main reason like someone stated for his motivation. His Main motivation was for the love of the guitar and him wanting to play like his dad. Watch him in 10 years and see what he can do, im sure he will be more amazing then. Im betting even if dont become more famous, he will still be doing great things in the future because he loves what he does. What more can anyone ask of him? Not everyone is created equal. Before the age 7 your brain is in a state that is primed for learning new things. Him putting videos up on Youtube was also a big help because he had incentive to learn a new song in its ENTIRETY. How many songs have you learned half of, then put it away for a few months? This kid had a goal and a reason to learn each new piece which probably aided his motivation. Don't get me wrong. I think this kid was and still is AMAZING but Im not so fascinated by the fact that he's young and can play like this. Show me a 45 year old that can play like this who started playing when he was 40, then my jaw will drop, but a child is mentally built to learn new things. Its how our species has lived this long.
