Oscar has unveiled their list of nominees for the big night.

Here are some of my quick preditions:

Lost in Translation takes Director, Best Actor and Original Screenplay Oscars. Return of the King undeservedly takes everything else. I have to find out which of the short films or documentaries are about the Holocaust before I can predict those categories.

I'll do a complete rundown of my predictions of what will win and more importantly what I believe deserves to win (two separate categories) a little closer to the Oscars (February 29th).

In other news Nintendo announces its new handheld: Nintendo DS (Double-Screen). Maybe they will let us connect our GameBoy Advances up to it to play multi-player games.

It is confirmed that World of Warcraft beta sign ups begin Wednesday at 6PM PST the 28th on the blizzard site.

Holy Bejesus I'm sold on Steel Battalion: Line of Contact.

God damn if this fish game isn't addictive.

I saw this while driving on the road the other day. I thought it was pretty funny and thought I would share.

It wouldn't be a LotD update without at least one Halo video. This one is a press documentary on Halo 2 with some never before seen footage of this most highly anticipated of sequels.

It has not escaped my notice that there have been some general complaints about the quality or lack thereof of our recent LotDs. Therefore to fix that problem here is a mixed bag of good ones from KenshiroKing and I. Everything running the gamut of lurid firsthand tales from whores and porn store clerks to a David Hasselhoff music video and Bush one-upping us all, LU has got you covered.

The reelection slogan for George W. Bush used to be "four more years, four more countries," but Big W has one-upped us all and has skipped conquering countries and moved on to conquering planets.

Ooga Chakka Ooga Chakka…it's kind of catchy.

Whore-R stories. *Broken Link* I'll fix this one when I get a chance. Stories from a Russian based E-zine about one of their reporter's escapades with Russian prostitutes. Fairly graphic but extremely interesting.

Chick tracts. Everyone probably already knows about these, but their message of hate disguised as Christian propaganda makes me laugh and cry at the same time.

Don't let the fact that the author works at a porn video store fool you, this diary is an enlightening view into the realities of addiction, shame and the dark underbelly of society. Uh... it's really not as bad as I made it sound. VERY interesting reading.

A video of the grand opening of the Apple store in Japan. The longest line I have ever seen. Watch the whole video, it's worth it. This video should be called the Asian people are many...and they are giving away free Apples.

Interesting psychological discussion of the societies created by MMO games discussed by Peter Ludlow, the guy whom EA banned from the Sims for his frank expose on the realities of said game. Beat that sentence.

This game should be the basic test that all gaming clans should use to screen members.
