How do you give the Oscar for best editing to a movie with a running
time of 201 minutes? I'm speaking of course of the unnecessarily
long and drawn out Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King.
There is a minimum of a three second pause before and after every
line is spoken in this movie. If you gave me the editing job I could
have taken my garden shears to it made it into a 90-minute movie
without altering a single line of dialogue or battle scene. The
endless hugging at the end of the flick still gives me nightmares.
And now to the LotDs!

Infinium

I won't believe it till I see it.
More on
Infinium Labs. They are threatening legal action against HardOCP
for an article they wrote about the Phantom 5 months ago. LU, as
a website that has been threatened by legal action ourselves, finds
the whole situation almost as funny as what we went through. Someday
I'll get around to posting up the e-mails.
Yoshitaka Amano is one
of the few artists that have my respect. His work on THE SANDMAN:
The Dream Hunters won him an Eisner. His conceptual artwork
on the Final Fantasy series won him a legion of loyal fan
boys.

Japan, the most morally depraved society on the planet, in a surprising
event overturns
its rights on freedom of expression and hands down a shocking
1 year prison sentence to Monotori Kishi, the publisher of the very
adult manga (hentai) Misshitsu (Honey Room). I guess I underestimated
Japan's obscenity code by assuming they didn't have one. It could
be that this the manga is so obscene that it would even make KenshiroKing
blush, but this goes against every carefully cultivated conception
I've ever made about their wonderful nation. I
mean look at some of the stuff that comes from that country.
What more evidence do you need?
Here is some
